The Peace of Heart Choir is a a non-profit collective of musical community members who came together shortly after the September 11, 2001 tragedies to help promote healing, diversity, community bonding, and mutual understanding in the New York City metropolitan area through music.

Originally released in 2008 in a limited handmade CD package, "Silent Opening" is an intimate folk/rock debut album from the french songwriter Yonograph (Yohann Antignac).
After playing in different bands and artistic projects, Yohann played solo on stage in 2006 under the name of "Yoan and the Silent Phonograph".
Why this name? Maybe to refer to the good old music values which disappeared day after day...or maybe just because of the worry of feeling lonely on stage.
The "one man band" became Yonograph in 2010 after many gigs everywhere in France...

Digital music distributor 88tc88 (88tc88.com) announced the addition of China Unicom to the list of mobile outlets it services in China. With the agreement, 88tc88 now delivers independent music to all of China's 950+ million mobile subscribers. The company also announced the first statements from China Mobile and China Telekom, providing its customers accurate and transparent figures for ringtone, caller ringback tone, mastertone and full track sales, individually and bundled as a subscription.
"Our agreement with China Unicom enables us to not only provide our customers full coverage of China's mobile carriers, but importantly, China's growing iPhone subscriber base, now estimated at over 4 million," noted 88tc88 co-founder Thomas Reemer. "Being able to add China to the global digital distribution map is an achievement we at 88 are very proud of accomplishing." “Don’t try to push me” is a 4 songs EP: Lay down has always been fun to play, and its recording has a very good melancholic feel to it, a “Take me out tonight” languor. Inside outside has a middle-eight part that made us realize how beautiful we could get working on harmony and colors. David is one of the first songs we have written and one of the hardest to work out: we wanted a perfect sound for a song that matters a lot to us (it is, in fact, our humble homage to David Foster Wallace's work). Death by love is a lullaby for another day, and our very first song too.

16 Lovers Lane are a band from Verona, Italy. The members are: Michele Segàla (guitar, vocals), Giulia-Giorgia Quaggiotto (electric piano, keyboards, programming, vocals), Federico Di Fonte (bass). “Don’t try to push me” is their first release.

CEEA White Paper on Intellectual Property (Film And Audiovisual Industry)

The China Enterprise Evaluation Association (CEEA) recently organized an event in Beijing for the release of its "White Paper on Intellectual Property (film and audiovisual industry)". The aim of the research was to examine the state of intellectual property and copyright protection issues, while offering recommendations to China's film and audio-visual industry, based in part on international experience of property rights. Notably, the event was attended by trade associations such as the Music Copyright Society of China, China Audio & Video Association, and the Film Copyright Society of China.
The white paper found that, despite some recent efforts by the Chinese government to address relevant IP laws and regulations, piracy rates remained a consistent problem, with rates estimated as high as 50%. While western organizations such as the IIPA and MPAA have focused much of their concerns on online piracy, the white paper noted the important role that hotels, KTVs (karaoke), schools, libraries and other institutions played in driving the infringement of audiovisual copyrighted material. Such piracy not only depress movie box office sales and television viewership, they stunt the development of the legitimate audio-visual market and hamper innovation in the sector.
While some of the white paper's recommendations are predictable (such as strengthening law enforcement), others are worth noting, such as "strengthening the basic construction and formation of an effective intellectual property management system." We in the West take our copyright system for granted, not being mindful of the fact that it has been built up and revamped over the last 100 years and is not something that can be created overnight. It may not be perfect and is subject to criticism, but it is a known commodity, with well-established procedures and rules to follow if you want to, for example, use music in a video project. The painful fact is that the same cannot be said of China.

There are also recordings that can not be exactly identified, though in this case any identification is quite relative anyway - sometimes the boundary between different projects is rather fuzzy.

The Peace of Heart Choir, which was formed after the September 11 attacks to promote peace and healing in the NYC community, is holding auditions in Midtown Manhattan on the following days:

Thurs 1/20 from 6-9pm
Sat 1/22 from 6-9pm
